never go thirsty…

24 hour shop on site
Within reception, we have a 24 hour shop for you. You can buy drinks, chocolates, crisps, toiletries, batteries etc.

We also sell phonecards in the shop, which are the cheapest way to call home. For example, call Australia for about 90 minutes for £5.

There is also usually a selection of quick food for you to prepare, like 2 minute noodles or Pasta and Sauce, just in case you forgot to go to the supermarket

Secure Entrance

We all want to feel safe..

To enter the hostel, you have to come through our front door. Watching that door at all times are our receptionists. Anyone not staying at the hostel won’t get past.

Your Identification
When you arrive, we will ask you to provide us with some photo I.D., preferably a passport. We will issue you with a card (‘the blue card’) which you must show us everytime you enter the hostel.

Visitors are not allowed into the hostel at all. We do allow you to take visitors into the dining room, but for security, they may not go near the bedrooms.

No Lockouts

You never have to leave.
We never have lockouts. Some hostels expect you to leave between 10am-5pm so they can clean up. We allow you to use the hostel whenever you want.

If you had a big night on the town, and want to stay in bed all day, that’s fine with us. If you just want to relax and watch a movie, you can.

We still have to clean the hostel every day, though. You might be woken by the sound of the vacuum cleaner, or someone making a bed above yours. Sometimes we may ask you to leave the dining room, kitchen or video rooms for a short time while we clean it, but you can go back in as soon as we are done.

No Curfews

Always Open
We have someone sitting on reception 24 hours a day. You can come and go as you please anytime. You don’t need to worry about losing your keys, or not getting in.

Press The Buzzer
After midnight, we close our front door for security reasons. All you need to do is press the buzzer next to the door, and tell us your name, and bedname, and we will buzz the door open for you.

When you get back
Our shop is open, as well as the internet, video room, kitchen. All our common rooms are there 24 hours a day, so if you need to wind down or have something to eat, you can.

We aren’t your parents…you can come home whenever you want…
Luggage Storage

During your stay
While you are staying, you can safely leave your bags in your room. There are lockers in all our short term rooms. You will need to supply your own padlock or we sell them in reception for £2. We do not allow visitors into the hostel, and rarely have any problems with theft. The staff all live in the dormitories, and all leave their stuff lying about.

On Checkout
When you checkout, you may have to wait a few hours for a bus or train. You may leave your bags with us in our office.

Travelling on
If you have bags that you need to leave for a week or so, then you can do that too. We charge £3 a week to store your bags. Unfortunately, we have to charge for this, otherwise we would have a mountain of bags that never get picked up!

Washing Machine
We have laundry facilities available from about 6pm to 10am (We have to do hostel laundry during the day).

You do your laundry yourself. It costs £1.00, for the washing machine and detergent, and about £2.00 for the dryer, so you can do all your washing for £3.00

The laundry is only available after we have finished washing our bed linen, so if you need to do your laundry fast, ask our staff who will show you where a laundromat is located.
